Winter Wedding

A Winter Wedding is very romantic and the weather and light can create spectacular photos.The venue's are many and varied, however you can't go past one with a big open fire place, especially if they allow you to roast marshmellows over it.

If you are having a wedding in the snow you may want to consider a wedding dress with some color in it to offset against the white of the snow, or consider a colored cape. The crisp air in winter can make it much more comfortable for the groom and his party as suits in summer can be a very hot attire.

The menu for a winter wedding is usually something hot and filling. It could be a sit down dinner or a stand up occassion. It can be a great idea to serve hot red wine or "mulled wine" . This consists of red wine, orange juice, and cloves. You can put other juices in if you wish. When heated it is truely delicious. Thick homemade soup can be a really good entre/starter.

Weddings in winter can really have any color theme you like as anything goes with white. There are many beautiful winter locations where there is no snow and it is warm and sunny. You may want to get married at a certain time of year however you don't really want a winter wedding. Many places in southern America or Europe and northern Australia are very warm during winter but do not snow. Keep in mind that winter in America is summer in the southern hemisphere. So a January wedding in northern Australia would be extremely hot. Some of the tropical islands have the same weather all year round so you can have a beautiful beach Winter Wedding.
